Covert Robin Linkup

Earlier this year I made the decision that I wanted to do more with this blog rather than just writing about things that I am quilting currently and decided that I wanted to join in on blog hops and swaps. My first experience with swapping was the Covert Robin and it has proven to be a very great experience for me, not only did I get to start following a bunch of great craters but I got to make some fun items for a lady that I have never met but now feel like I know. I made gifts for Tami over at http://stwarnercorner.blogspot.com/. Upon getting my assignment I went and read all her blog posts ang other things that she has on her blog -- like her bucket list which is where I got much of my inspiration for her items but I didn't have a clear idea as to what i wanted to send to her until I went on Pinterest and plundered her boards to see things that she liked and wanted. I took from her pinterest that Tami does not crochet but she likes things that are so I got my inspiration from one of her pins.I have been crocheting a while and my little critters generally get good reception from everyone so I decided that I would make her a critter that I had not made before that she appeared to like -- an owlie in her favorite color (red). Now simply crocheted he didn't look right to me so I added the felt.
Now being a good partner I decided that this was not the only thing that I wanted to send Tami so I drew inspiration again from her favorite color and raided my scrap fabrics. I found some lovely red hear fabric and blue and red floral fabric. I put together a mug rug (for her love of tea) and decided I would free motion stitch a paraphrase of her life motto. -- mine reads "you never know until you try". I added the button to tie it all together with that background fabric.
I put in a few goodies and Westward it went. Here's another photo of Tami's package
She loves puzzles, chocolate and nail polish and obviously the color red --- I hope she loves the items as much as I loved putting them all together for her.

Now on to my goodies --- I was partnered up with Kayla at http://www.greenmountaincouple.com/. She Nailed it with all my owlie and colorful goodies. I did have a mishap with the shipping and my pot was broken when it arrived but the hubby fixed it up and it needs a little touch up work. (I do not think this has to do with Kayla -- our postal worker is not very careful with packages and this has been addressed.)

The wrist strap and coasters come from her Etsy shop and will be a great addition to my crafting space.

I so look forward to swaps in the future and want to thank the hosts for doing such a great job.

Happy quilting everyone.
